Children’s & Young People’s Services

Offering dedicated support for children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years old who have lived with or are currently living with domestic violence

At Omagh Women’s Aid, we understand that children and young people are often deeply affected by domestic abuse, whether they witness it or experience it directly.

That’s why we offer dedicated support for children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years old who have lived with or are currently living with domestic violence.

Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive environment where children and young people can begin to express themselves, build resilience, and understand that they are not alone.

We offer a range of age-appropriate, specialised services tailored to meet the unique needs of each young person. These include:

One-to-One Support

Individual sessions with a trained support worker to explore feelings, increase safety, and build confidence at the child’s own pace.

Group Work

Peer-based sessions that offer a safe space for children and young people to share experiences, reduce isolation, and build positive relationships.

Personal Development Programmes

Interactive programmes designed to strengthen self-esteem, promote healthy relationships, and support emotional wellbeing.

Prevention Programmes

Educational workshops delivered in schools and community settings, aimed at raising awareness about domestic abuse, promoting respectful relationships, and breaking the cycle of violence.

Our services are child-centred, trauma-informed, and delivered with compassion and understanding.

We work closely with parents and carers where appropriate, and with schools and other agencies to ensure a joined-up approach to support.
